Human beings are the most dangerous species. The latest news talks about the murder of this lovely girl Sparkle . Just is bothering me so much. I guess the very thought of the intensity of this act gives me the shivers. I totally blame the husband, he was totally spineless. Sorry for my anger.
I know there is race discrimination everywhere now I have to face my own fears of what am I going to do to help and educate people from India, gosh are we ever going to change? Where do I begin the education process.
I question myself as to have I really done enough with all the talks I gave in schools and colleges, both informal and formal. Is it bothering me more because it is national news? I know there is within each country a hidden bias based on the skin color, and I knew in India it existed. But will they act on it!
Please feel free to post comments and thoughts this will help me process info better.

Sorry, Virdhini, I didn't see the news or know anything about Sparkle. But I do understand how the newscasts can really throw you a wringer. What empathy you have to be touched by someone you don't know! You can make Sparkle's story into her legacy by working toward a better place and taking her story to heart when you feel worn down by the loss of momentum.
My belief is that at its core humans follow the natural law of survival of the most cooperative. We are destined to spiritually evolve to become more reasoned, more tolerant and enlightened. Though senseless violence, such as the one you mention, is still among us, the human race in general is becoming more enlightened.
For example, not too many years ago, capital punishment even in the "west" was routinely done in public. Now in many parts of the world, it would be a convulsion to hold an execution in the public arena.
Having said that, many of us still operate through a set of indoctrinations and belief systems that were established when the game was about domination. It's about the ego. It's about finding our worth by keeping others down.
The work is go find the worth from within and see others as ourselves.
I don't go after big things like saving the planet. I just try to live my life in a way that I might be able to touch one person at a time. And if there are enough people like me, the world will naturally become a better place.
